In 1953, Ahlgrens candy factory in Gävle wanted to make marshmallows, but the result was not what they had in mind. Instead, it was foam candy pieces that looked like cars and tasted great. Thus, Ahlgrens bilar – Sweden’s most bought car was born!

In the 1970s they were renamed Ahlgrens bilar and for more than 70 years this classic car model has now been on the road. Today, Ahlgrens bilar is manufactured in Ljungsbro outside Linköping and several million cars roll out of the factory every day.
